Entertaiment is something that affords pleasure, diversion or amusement. It can range from an individual choosing a movie, book or game for his or her own enjoyment to the entertainment of a large group at a banquet or ball; from solving a crossword puzzle to performing for a global audience. Entertainment is often escapist, but it can also serve as a way to understand the world around us. Entertainment also hits on the themes that our brains were evolved to react deeply to, such as social backstabbing and murders.
