Entertaiment is any activity that holds the attention and interest of a person or group, or gives pleasure and delight. This includes activities such as movies and television, music, books, sports and games, and visual arts. The word comes from the Medieval Latin intertenere, derived from the prefix inter meaning “inside” and the suffix tenere meaning to hold. It has since been adapted to mean any activity that entertains.
